Happy Easter!

Cross decorated sugar cookies are a great way to celebrate the true spirit of Easter.

i do! Bridal Shower Cookies

The only thing as exciting as new babies is weddings!

My customer requested decorated sugar cookies for a bridal shower she was planning for her co-worker.  She asked that a wedding dress and cake be included in the assortment.

The bride's colors are tone on tone shades of green.  The turquoise and sage look stunning together.

To keep the assortment from looking too white, I made these additions...

A sweet sash with a flower closure brightens up this wedding dress.

Designing a half wedding cake on a turquoise rectangle added tons of color and enabled me to add the sweet "i do" wording.

This monogram cookie really shows how fabulous the turquoise and sage look together.

Welcome Spring!

Today is the first day of Spring!  Yippee!  Too bad it is 28 degrees outside.
I'm not going to let the cold weather stop me from celebrating with these cheery Spring inspired decorated sugar cookies.

My mother-in-law wanted 3 dozen Spring cookies to share with her co-workers, so this was the perfect opportunity to try something new.  She is awesome about letting me have total control over the design.

I had so much fun decorating with lustre spray on these Wizard of Oz cookies, that I wanted to work with it again.  I saw these little wood decorations at my local craft store and was inspired to create an entire assortment using them as stencils and lustre spray as the decoration.

So, I iced all of the cookies white and then sprayed away using these color mists and my stencils.  It was somewhat difficult to get even coloring and the purple was very splotchy no matter what I tried.  I still think they turned out fun, though.  The look is kind of like water colors.  And they were, of course, delicious!

Angry Birds; Take 2

Angry Birds!  Who doesn't love them?!
I received another customer request for Angry Birds decorated sugar cookies for their child's birthday party.  This was my chance to improve on my original design.

Again, I was inspired by this clip art.  I was happy with my black bird, but I slightly changed the design of my red bird and green pig.  I changed the hair on the red bird and made the green pig more rounded and shifted the position of his ears.
I am much happier with them this way.

Some of the cookies went home with the guests as party favors
and others were boxed up for the family to enjoy.

But, they all went home happy.  Happy Birthday, Hudson!

I'll Get You My Pretty!

These Wizard of Oz decorated sugar cookies are so fun!  What a great party theme!

My customer requested Wizard of Oz cookies for her daughter's birthday party.
So, I designed this assortment for the party guests, including Dorothy's gingham dress, ruby slippers and the Wicked Witch of the West.

I created this darling gingham dress by covering the entire cookie with white icing.
Then I followed this tutorial and sprayed the cookie in an alternating stripe pattern with blue lustre spray.

The ruby slippers received a thick coating of red sanding sugar.

This simple witch looks gruesome with her warts.

Each party guest received her own gift box with a personalized monogram cookie bite.

What a special party for a special little girl!  Happy Birthday, Sophia!

Home Sweet Home

My customer is a realtor and asked that I make a decorated sugar cookie gift box for his clients' home closing.  He requested cookies with the Prudential logo and his name.
So, besides the logo cookie, I designed a "Home Sweet Home" plaque, a darling house and a key with my customer's name.

These cookies would also be great as a gift at a listing appointment
or as a platter at an open house.

This gift box is a sweet present for any new home owner.  The logo cookie could be replaced with a sold sign or a moving box.  Order one for your next housewarming party.  What a fun way to say, "Welcome to the Neighborhood!"
