Legos: Star Wars Style

These cookies are a slight twist on my traditional lego decorated sugar cookies.
My graphic designer, Resa, requested lego cookies for her son's birthday.
She had the fabulous idea to decorate them in lego star wars colors; black, grey and blue.
So, I transformed the lego man head into the unmasked Darth Vader.
I always wondered what he looked like under that helmet!

Angry Birds

I made these Angry Birds decorated sugar cookies
for my customer's daughter's 10th birthday.

I couldn't resist decorating a dozen extra for my boys, because they love Angry Birds, too.  I was inspired by this clip art from google images.

For the black and red birds, I used a Christmas ornament cookie cutter.  For the yellow bird, I used a candy corn cookie cutter, smooshed it a little and cut off the bottom.  I didn't have anything I could use for the pig, so I cut him by hand.  Sweet Sugar Belle has some great tutorials on decorating the green pig, the yellow bird and the red bird.

And then, I tucked them all in for a good night's sleep.

Happy Birthday, Ella!

All Aboard for Thomas the Tank Engine

What little boy doesn't love Thomas the Tank Engine?!

My customer wanted Thomas decorated sugar cookies to celebrate her son's 3rd birthday.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Benjamin!

Michele at i-heart-baking has some great step by step photos on decorating Thomas, but I modeled Thomas's face after these from Sugar Mama Cookies.
I love how Holly at the doughmestic Housewife dressed up Thomas with railroad signs and tracks.  So, I decided to design my own version.  All aboard for birthday fun!

Pretty Pansies

I realize that it is the middle of winter, but it is my mother's birthday this week and purple pansies are her favorite flower.  So, for her birthday, I made some purple pansy sugar cookies and a special monogram cookie just for her.  These pansies were inspired by Nicole at Life's a Batch.  She has a step-by-step tutorial for making these pretty pansies.

Cookie Pops: The Perfect Cupcake Topper

I had my whole family over to celebrate my mom's birthday today.  I served a triple chocolate cake that is her favorite, but I needed a non-chocolate sweet.  So, I made some white cupcakes and decided to ice them with eggless chocolate chip cookie dough and top them with a sugar cookie decorated like a chocolate chip cookie.
Can you feel the sugar rush?  They were delicious!

Cookie Pops are great on their own as well!  Packaged together, they make a darling gift.
