Decorate a Caramel Apple Cookie

with Buttercream Icing

  • Pipe an outline around the edge of the apple.
  • Fill in the apple using a back and forth motion, creating horizontal lines of icing.
  • Pipe an outline around the stick and fill in using a back and forth motion.
  • Pipe a wavy line in the center of the apple and then continue outlining the bottom of the cookie to create the caramel sauce. Fill in using a back and forth motion.
  • Add sprinkles to the caramel sauce.
  • Pipe an outline around each leaf and fill in using a back and forth motion.

PRO TIP: For an alternate decoration idea on the caramel sauce, pipe candy drizzle lines instead of adding sprinkles.

Decorate an Apple Tree Cookie

with Buttercream Icing

  1. Pipe a skinny triangle 3/4 of the way up in the center of the cookie for the tree trunk.
  2. Fill in the trunk using a back and forth motion, creating horizontal lines of icing.
  3. Pipe branches on either side of the trunk, using the shape of the cookie as a guide. Fill in the branches using a back and forth motion.
  4. Pipe fluffy swirls of icing randomly on the branches for the leaves.
  5. Add apples to the leaves using dots of icing or sprinkles.

PRO TIP: There is no rule that says the entire cookie needs to be filled with icing. Sometimes a minimalistic design looks more pleasing to the eye.

Decorate an Apple Pie Cookie

with Buttercream Icing

  • Pipe three teardrop outlines in the top center of the pie crust.
  • Pipe an outline around the edge of the pie crust.
  • Fill in the pie crust using a back and forth motion, creating horizontal lines of icing.
  • Pipe an outline around the pie plate and fill in using a back and forth motion.
  • Pipe zig zag lines up and down for the wavy crust between the pie plate and the "lid" crust of the pie.
  • Pipe fluffy swirls of icing for a dollop of whip cream on top.

PRO TIP: For an alternate design, try decorating the top of this cookie as an apple with a stem and a leaf.
